Seeking info on a connection between McCorkle Family ca 1746 and a Sloan family, also ca 1746, may have migrated from Lancaster Co. PA about that time, and then after 1750 to Rowan Co, NC. An Elizabeth Sloan (who may have been a child of an unknown Mr. and Mrs. Sloan) and granddaughter or niece of a McCorkle) married Andrew Morrison in Rowan Co. 1766.

I am looking for the Burial place of my 4x great grandparents Thomas and Elizabeth Duttrow Phillips. Thomas died 1834 and Elizabeth sometime later. They moved from Martinsburg Va. Berkeley Co. to Augusta Co. along the Calfpasture River in the Deerfield area where they had land. My best guess is that they were buried in the old part of the Church Cemetery outside Deerfield. Montgomery and Claytons who Thomas had dealing with are there. The Church burned at one time and Records were lost. A Mrs. Rivercomb who moved there in 1947 told me there were Stones thrown in a pile along fence. In his Will Thomas asked that a Stone for him and his wife be put up after death so I belive there is or was a Stone somewhere. Thank you Leon H Phillips`

For many years I have been searching for more info on my gggrandparents graves James C Atkins 1828-1895 and his wife Eliza Jane J Merchant 1827-1911. When James died his death index did not give info other than he died in Beverley Manor of colic reported by his son Robert. As for Eliza, I have not found much at all. Also, searching for James parents John and Elizabeth McAlister Atkins graves and James' siblings. This is and has been for many many years my dead end. I would love to someday go back to Augusta Co and visit your society. Maybe I can finally find what I am looking for. How would I go about finding these graves?

Hello, Can you tell me where I can find a grid map the would correspond to the census taken in Staunton from 1860-1910? Doesn't really help much when the census just Identifies the family number and not the physical address. Thank you Kathleen Harlowe
